Garage Upgrades: Feedback Sports Alpine Scale and Tool Tray

Feedback Sports Pro-Elite Repair Stand with accessory tool tray and Alpine Sports Scale

Do you need to know how much your bike weighs? Maybe not, but light bikes are easier to move around, which can make them more fun. Plus, when it comes to dialing in a home bike shop, an accurate weight scale like the Feedback Sports Alpine Scale is a nice addition to any workshop.

The Alpine Sports Scale features a loop should you want to hang it, (ours lives on a hook on my workbench the majority of the time) or you can easily clamp it in a repair stand for weighing bikes, wheels, packs or other gear.

Since the garage is a dark messy space, the yard makes a much better backdrop for appreciating the Alpine Scale.

I use ours in conjunction with the Feedback Sports Pro-Elite Repair Stand. (see our review on the Pro-Elite Stand here) The stand can be easily raised to mount it higher and fully suspend a bike in order to weigh it.

With carbon Reynolds Wheels the Sentinel dips below 30lbs!

While doing some routine maintenance, I realized I didn’t have a clue what my Transition Sentinel weighed in at, so while I had the bottle cage off (I was inspecting the bike for damage after laying it down in an abrupt get-off) I had to find how much I was pushing around.

She came in at under 30lbs, thanks to the Reynolds Carbon wheels I’ve had on loan — not too shabby!

The Alpine Scale is simple to use and accurate to +/- 10g.

  • 0.02lb (10g) display resolution

Feedback Sports also offers an number of additional accessories that pair with their repair stands. Earlier this year, Inga surprised on my birthday by getting me the Feedback Tool Tray to add to my repair stand. It easily attached to the stand and not only features a spot to leave your beer (or coffee) but has a hook for rags as well as slots for your favorite tools.

Most importantly, I finally have a good spot for my T-handled Park Allen Hex wrenches! (one of these days I might upgrade to the P-handled models, but these things will probably last forever)

Even with slots for them, I still can’t find my spoke wrenches. (I found them, they were under the rag)

In the chaos that is the Bermstyle garage bike shop, this small bit of organization is a beautiful thing.

The accessory Tool Tray lists for $32.99 and fits all Feedback Sports Repair Stands, while the Feedback Sports Alpine Scale lists for $63.99. Check them out at FeedbackSports.com
