Large high volume rims and tires have been popping up everywhere, with a number of variations now available. You can choose from 26″ diameter fatbikes with huge balloon size tires or wide 29″ diameter rims dubbed 29+. And now thanks to Fourty-Four Bikes out of New Hampshire and WTB, there’s one more fat option in the 650b variation, dubbed B+.
The frame features 16.75″ chain stays and ample tire clearance, and looks to be an interesting new option for hardtail aficionados with a hankering for fat tires.
WTB was displaying the chromoly hard tail at their booth at Interbike, which features the new WTB Scraper i45 27.5″ TCS rim with a 27.5″ x 2.8 tire dubbed the Trailblazer. The Trailblazer features a fast rolling centerline tread with soft, low durometer side knobs for use in a variety of trail conditions, and is only available in TCS tubeless.
The chromoly frame can also accept 29″ wheels if so desired with ample room to spare.
