A lot of us rely on our phones for navigation while traveling. However, finding a suitable mount has been a challenge for us. We’ve tried a number of products – suction cup mounted holders, clip-on mounts that go on the vents, and well – they’ve all ended up sucking.
Ironically, when I discovered the WizGear mount our fellow van life riding buddy was using, he was using the vent mounted unit. However, it was the ease of the magnetic mount that sold me on the product concept. When I looked them up, I found the stick-on option, and seeing they were available in a two pack, (we have two vehicles) ordered one immediately.
Features
- Magnetic mount fit the back of any phone
- Includes 2 3m Adhesives to mount, wipe pad and 4 metal plates
- Swivel base
- Can be mounted away from the air vent

In hindsight, I would have stuck the mount an inch or two lower so the phone would be a bit more adjustable…
Installing the stick on mount takes a few minutes. The main challenge is finding a surface that is smooth enough to stick that provides a good viewing angle. The metal plates can be stuck to your phone, but I just slipped mine under the case and it fit fine.
Provided you mount the phone plate in a good spot, it does a fantastic job holding your phone in place, even while traveling on rough roads. Being a magnet, its simple to place your phone on the mount and go. I’ve had it mounted for a few months and even with the textured surface, the mount has yet to move and it’s by far the best solution we’ve found to date. The small mount is minimal and you’ll never have to worry about your phone overheating from the vent, or a suction cup falling off again. At $14, it will only set you back $7.00 a car and its one of the best things you’ll spend your bucks on all month.
The WizGear Universal Stick on Magnetic Cell Phone Holder lists for $18.99 for a pack of two, but you can get it for $14.00 on Amazon.
