Truckee California has become the latest town in California to sport its own pump track. From the looks of it, its pretty sweet too.
Located in the Riverview Sports Park the site chosen to host the pumptrack project is adjacent to the current BMX track. At 17,000 square feet, the massive track is actually three special treats in one; a traditional pumptrack, a pumppark, and a strider-bike loop.
The track is located at the Riverview Sports Park so finding it should be reasonably easy during your next trip to the Tahoe area. You’re definitely going to want to bring a dj bike now along on your next trip to Northstar. Soon as I get off my butt and stop playing partypoker on the internet and get my next road trip planned, I’ll get some sweet riding shots. In the meantime, check out this post on Pinkbike.
On a side note, we’ve been working through the BTCEB in the East Bay to get the first public pump track going in the Bay Area. This sort of stuff takes time, as we’ve found with our work with the SF Urban Riders in San Francisco. To keep in the loop on our trail building and bike park efforts check out our other more advocacy focused blog, Bermstyle.com.
And now for your viewing pleasure, here’s a video edit of the Truckee pump track:
