SF’s first ever bike park is seriously close to becoming a reality thanks to a $250k grant. Unfortunately it’s just enough to build phase one of the park’s construction. And while a second grant could possibly double down on funds, it would still only be enough for phase one and two. In order to unlock the full potential of the park, additional funds still need to be raised.
The SF Urban Riders is the group behind making this park (and create other dirt riding opportunities) a reality. We’ve counted ourselves among them from the start, and have been working to help make this all come together. This weekend is the first of a number of upcoming fundraisers, so keep an eye out and bring your posse with you.
Saturday, May 18th, we’ll be hanging out at the Soma Street Food park at an event titled “Brews 4 Bikes.”
Contribute $30 towards SF’s first bike park and receive unlimited beer samples from 11-5, plus three raffle tickets. You could win any of the following:
- Specialized P24 bike
- Pivot dirt jump frame
- GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition Camera
- Gamut Chain Guide
- Chrome Gear
- Betabrand clothing
- Boombotix speakers
- Sports Basement Gift Certificates
Did we mention there’s beer? And you’ll be hanging out with lots of other rad people also want a sweet bike park to ride bikes at. You can also purchase beers and raffle tix separately for $5.00 each with the funds also going towards the park. As a bonus, if you pre-register/ pre-donate for the event via Eventbrite, you can get a free McLaren Bike Park or Alaskan Brewing t-shirt.
