Rallying the crew to shoot some video can sometimes be a chore, and sometimes when it comes to documenting the riding, it’s just easier to set the GoPro on a tripod, hit record and run up the trail before ripping down through the frame. It can be a bit of work, but it’s a big improvement on POV footage. The downside is the lack of variety in the shots you can get. Soloshot’s robot cameraman was created to be the answer for the self shooter, with a collection of products that allow your camera to track you via a base and tag to keep you in the shot. With multiple bases, you can even film yourself from multiple angles simultaneously.
You can also add options for controlling your DSLR cameras that allow you to remote fire your DSLR camera while being tracked by the base, with a range of up to 2,000 feet away.
The Soloshot2 Base & Tag start at $399, so it’s definitely an investment, but it looks to be a the solution for someone that does a lot of selfie video.
