Founded in 1917 by Felice Sacchi near Milan, Italy, SILCA is best known for their floor pumps. Almost every shop I had worked for during my stint as a wrench had a SILCA pump laying around that was still in service. Many of these pumps were still going strong after years of service, thanks to the availability of replacement parts from SILCA. In a world where every product or device has a built in expiration date for usefulness, those iconic pumps stand out and you can still buy one today.
To celebrate a full century of making tools for cycling, SILCA released a limited edition of the HX-ONE Hey Key Set. Taking the basic hex key to a whole different plane, the high quality tool is constructed using S2 alloy steel that is harder (and more costly) than 8650, the more common grade found in use. A red polymer coating is added for better grip for a better feel when precision is required. An S2 steel bit adaptor is included as well as 10 S2 steel bits to fit most fasteners and everything is collected in a box crafted from American Walnut.
