If you’re looking to step away from the rat race, a weekend pedaling into the woods has a magical way of making stress melt away. Strapping some camping gear, a change of clothes and supplies to your bike means you’re no longer on any type of schedule.

I never thought I’d be interested in bike packing, but our return to the northwest in pursuit of a better life/work balance has changed my perspective. Slowing things down and stepping away from the hustle and bustle has a way of removing all stress, and looking at life with a fresh perspective.

Anyone can do it — although premium gear can enhance the experience, you don’t need thousands of dollars in gear to bike camp. That said, having the ideal gear certainly makes things nice, as Inga found out when embarking on her first bike packing adventure last month.

Blackburn has been all in when it comes to making gear intended for off road bike touring with a full line of accessories, recently helping produce ‘Roll with It’, a film dedicated to sharing the experience of camping by bike. Several screenings are already scheduled in Boulder, Minneapolis, Seattle, Cardiff, Oakland and Asheville.
