Featuring 4 progressive jump lines, a pump track and a skills loop, the Prineville Bike Park opened in 2016. With Prineville located near Bend, we made a point to drive over to experience the central Oregon park during a visit.
The park contains multiple progressive jump lines, a pump track and perimeter skills route.
Constructed by Bend based trail contractors Dirt Mechanics, the park was built with the assistance of COTA volunteers.
The park cleverly incorporates a freight container into the design of the starting ramp for the jump lines.
Two wood roll ins and a dirt starting mound begin off the container which also houses tools for maintaining the park.
The top of the container is spacious making it a suitable place for riders to congregate without getting overly crowded.
The park features drainages to handle precipitation but being a dirt park does require regular maintenance.
The jump faces on some of the jump zone were a bit rough during our visit, so finding out when the crew plans trail work and riding right afterwards would be the key to a great visit.
Amongst the features is a neat step up and off wood piece that incorporates a wagon.
