If you are a rider living near Portland, Oregon, Longview or Vancouver Washington, help is needed in spreading the word. Local riders in and around the city of Castle Rock have an opportunity to get a bike park going, but the city is still developing its Park and Recreation Plan. We all know we need lots more bike parks, so take a moment and visit the survey.
Castle Rock is located just north of Longview, Washington and is about an hour’s drive. The site of the proposed skills park currently is the occupied by an abandoned BMX track. Alex Hansen, a Longview resident has been pushing to get this park moving; if you don’t know Al, he’s one of the local fast guys- a skilled DH and AM rider that knows his way around a pump track. (check the post on the ih8bikes pump track to see him in action) The site is a similar situation to the abandoned BMX park in Beaverton, Oregon, so it is feasible that this project could be fast tracked somewhat quickly.
