Lezyne has been making a bit of a splash lately with fresh product offerings that class up any workshop. In fact, it is probably safe to say they make the best looking shop tools available. While the pro level tools have been getting a lot of press, we had a chance to play with their Portable tool kit the other day, and it isn’t too shabby either.
Somehow Lezyne managed to fit almost all the tools you need to wrench on your bike into a neat, portable zip-up case that’s small enough to stash under the seat of your car. I’m not a huge fan of using fold up multi-tools all the time, but the incredibly small size factor means you can tote this tool kit with you anywhere, stowed in the bottom of your gear bag and be prepared full time.
For extended trips I pack a full tool box with to make sure I’m prepared for any issues that could pop up. Add a chain whip, bottom bracket and cassette tool to this kit and you can leave the big tool box at home still getting by in most situations. The case has illustrations of the tools so its obvious where each one is stored, keeping it all neatly organized. At $139, it might seem pricey at first – until you consider the cost of each tool separately. The only portable kit I’d rather be carrying runs 5x as much, making this one a bargain.
