Lame. Seriously lame is what it is. Last weekend Mad Max, Moto Mike, and mopey me (had to throw that it to keep the M’s rolling) were riding out at Post Canyon on our regular freeride mission. This week was slightly different, as we brought trail and all mountain bikes with the intent to do some serious pedaling. I wasn’t actually sure which trails the up coming Super D were actually held on, so we shuttled up and explored those trails and had a good time hitting some different trails. Max rides up there quite a bit, and showed me a lot of stuff I hadn’t ridden much, and or at all. Shuttled all mountain rides are awesome BTW. It’s like doing a sweet trail ride, but dropping the lame fire road climbs, and doing the trail three times instead of once. Can I get a “what, what?”
Although it was supposed to be more of an old school pedal, IE, we’re mostly going to just ride and not session, and avoid spending a lot of time on monster truck jumps over head height, kind of day, it didn’t exactly stick to the plan. We are talking about Max, is straight up addicted to riding the FMX jumps, so we took a detour so he could get his fix, and try them on his hardtail for the first time. When we rolled up we were presented with a rather ugly sight.
The third (or fourth) of the wedge ramps on the freeride line is missing over half the rungs, and there is evidence of fire damage. It appears that local trail builders have already assessed the damage, and closed the line.
We don’t know anything else at the moment, but will post updates when we hear more.
