If you’ve ever wished for a solution for moving your seat further forward — or maybe you’re not a fan of a steeper seat angle — the folks at Fair Bicycle created a product that might be the solution you’ve been looking for. Their product is the Drop Best UC M6 saddle clamp, which retrofits to your dropper post to add 27mm of (forward or backward) offset.
Compatible with most dropper posts and saddles, Fair Bicycle states that (forward (or backward) offset results in an effective 2º seat angle adjustment. (at a 680mm seat height) The assembly weighs 139 grams, but as it replaces the stock post components, the actual weight difference from a stock post is closer to 64 grams. (+/-).
Made from 7075 aluminum, the components are machined in Switzerland. and tested to ISO standards. The downside is the cost: the Fair Dropbest Clamp is only available direct from Fair, and will cost you about $132 USD, plus international shipping. They also could take a while to get as Fair waits to ship multiple orders at a time in an effort to keep the costs of shipping reasonable.
