Blogger by night at Bermstyle.com, Jason Van Horn by day works in Digital Marketing. He’s had a wide range of experiences in the bike industry, from his start at the front lines as a bike mechanic and service manager, to a Trails Specialist teaching sustainable trail building for IMBA in addition to over a decade coaching mountain bike skills with Bikeskills.com.
During a stint traveling as an instructor for the International Mountain Biking Association, he traveled the greater part of the west with Inga Beck, teaching sustainable trail building and riding trails from Texas to Saskatoon along the way.
After spending years coaching friends and riders socially, he began leading trail riding clinics, joining the crew at Bikeskills.com as the Bay Area location manager and leading monthly clinics in Marin County.
After over five years of skills coaching in the Bay Area, Inga and Jason have resettled in Portland, Oregon and established Bikeskills Portland. Adding a coaching certification from the Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association (PMBI) to years of coaching experience, we now offer instruction at Sandy Ridge Trail systems, one hour east of Portland, Oregon. Our series, “Intro to Flow” focuses on building the skills and techniques required to safely navigate the challenging trail features and maximize fun.
