Sometimes its nice to get away from the same trails we always ride and mix it up with some bike park action. Riding at the bike park forces us to focus solely on skills and technique. Since we’re sprinting at jumps and cranking the pedals hard it also happens to be good cross training. Mixing up intervals with longer endurance rides is a great way to keep things fresh. As a girl in a all boy’s sport, I find it is important to dress for the occasion, but I like to still look like a girl.
It’s safe to say when it comes to riding a dirt jump park there is typically a uniform look that goes along with it unless you want to look like a Fred or Sally. Jeans, gloves and a helmet are the staples, and if I’m going for it, pads are a prerequisite as well. Today my focus was on form on the pump sections, so I felt comfortable riding sans knee pads.
Here’s a run down of what I’m wearing today:
- Troy Lee Womens Ace Gloves
- 5.10 Spitfire – Graphite Grey
- Specialized Deviant Full Face Helmet
- Blank Jeans
- Cycle Kandy Tee
