Bike-Hook bike racks are a camper van carry solution that recently popped up on our social feed. The concept takes a common truck bed fork mount design and adds an integrated hook that hangs off the rear doors, not unlike the mirror we have in one of our bathrooms.
The Bike-Hook includes a Bike-Hook fork mount attached to its hanging plate, a quick-release axle, and 3x thru-axles to cover the most common sizes. It also includes decals and protective tape to protect the rear door finish, a “just-in-case” safety cable, and some bungees.

Installation seems straightforward. You pull your front wheel off, and mount the forks to the rack, then open the rear door and hang it off the door before closing it.
It’s a simple concept that seems sound in theory, but having seen and heard many rack failure stories, it does lead to the question: would you carry your expensive MTB or eMTB on it? According to their website, it’s engineered to handle the weight of modern eBikes, with tests safely carrying 70 lbs. per rack. However, I didn’t see any engineering documentation on the site, and anyone can write words on their website… what do you think?
The Bike-Hook sells for $125. Learn more at www.bike-hook.com/
