While getting prepped to ride the Captain Ahab Trail in Moab, Utah, we caught the sight of a custom painted Santa Cruz Nomad. Turns out it was the personal bike of Dustin Carlson, a custom bike painter based out of Price, Utah. And when you custom paint bikes, your personal ride not only can but should look badass.
Besides the striking paint job, a lot of details went into customizing the build, as well as parts.
A matching topcap is a nice touch.
The Onyx hubs are engraved with his logo.
Then there are the matching fork decals, done by the crew at Stikrd.
His rates for a custom paint job start at $500.
Tec-GNAR Trail Tool
He also makes a badass trail tool. Featuring bits of functionality from a rake, axe, pick, tamper and bottle opener, it’s like a McCleod and Rogue Hoe had a baby.
Handmade in Utah, get yours for $115 shipped at Tec-Gnar.com.
