The bike park at Mt. Bachelor opened the Pine Marten lift on the July 4th weekend to riders, with hours of operation extending to 7 days a week.
With only a fraction of the trail network open for the weekend, there was considerable congestion on the trails during peak hours, as all riders are routed down the same initial funnel, down Lava Flow. With much of the trail network still buried under snow, Last Chance, Rockfall, and Redline are still closed. That said, by early afternoon, things cleared up considerably.
If you’re hoping to ride your favorites, make sure to keep an eye on the Mt. Bachelor Facebook page for news on trail openings. With all the snow, we missed riding our favorite trails; even the top portion of Rattlesnake was still closed. We’ll be keeping close tabs on trail openings before planning our next visit.
Covid-19 Summer Operations
As expected, new safety protocols are in place in order to ensure safety for all; masks are required while in lift lines as well as indoor public spaces. Physical distancing is also expected.
For the most part, we observed mask compliance from almost everyone, other than one instance we witnessed in the retail space.
