2014 San Francisco Mountain Bike Festival — Short Track Racing Returns to SF September 6th

San Francisco’s only sanctioned mountain bike race makes its comeback September 6th, with the return of the SF Mountain Bike Festival featuring the headliner event, the McLaren Short Track. The event will be held in SF’s McLaren Park, as the event is a fundraiser for the McLaren Bike Park Project.

Besides the short track race, the event will also include a box jump demo, youth bike skills zone, the inaugural Cargo Bike Hill Climb Challenge and 11 Mile Adventure Ride.

Visit www.sfurbanriders.org for more info on the event and to find links to registration.

We’re media sponsors of the event, have already donated photography to the cause and will be on site photographing and documenting the short track — when we’re not out there getting flogged on the course ourselves! The best part of the event is that it’s accessible via public transit— the Glen Park BART station is only 3 miles or so away from the park and the short track course.

In addition, we serve on the board of the SF Urban Riders. That said, other than taking photos and drinking many beers on the day of the event, we’ll be off the clock, (Jason’s already put in hours and hours of his personal time in designing the Short Track and Festival logos, event t-shirts, poster and flyers, as well as updating the SFUR site, so you better recognize) so even if you don’t want to race, plan come and hang out and support an awesome cause.
