Rays videos from the Odd Couple contest have been popping up online, and because I know your fingers get so tired from all that clicking, we have them all here for you in one spot. Don’t say we never did anything for you! (there goes a big chunk of your workday!)
1st Place: Rocco Quintiliani and Brian Kachinsky, filmed by Clint McMahon
The Flaming Dog Poo gag sets the pace for a chase sequence throughout the park filled with tricks o’ plenty.

2010 Rays Odd Couple 2nd Place: Adam Hauck and Kris Marcum, filmed by George Ryan
When I heard the soundtrack to this video, I got up and danced! Ok, no I didn’t. My cat was looking at me and mocking me and I was embarrassed.

2010 Ray’s Odd Couple, Jeff Lenosky and Chris Aceto, filmed by Gardy Raymond- 3rd Place
2010 Ray’s Odd Couple 4th Place: Brian Miller and Adam Banton, filmed by Andrew Brady
All I have to say on this one is holy crap. Adam Banton has always been one of my fave riders to watch in videos like “Road Fools,” and he rips the place up with all his tech lines, including manualing though the pump track… but FAKIE!
Brian to his credit, was shredding harder than I’ve seen him go before- he transfers EVERYTHING, including up over to the second floor. This is my personal favorite of the group, partly because you just don’t know what they’re going to do next.

2010 Ray’s Odd Couple 5th Place: Aaron Chase and Justin Simpson, also filmed by Aaron Chase
Aaron Chase and Justin Simpson killing it to Danzig. “Nuff said. Aaron Chase also took double duty, editing and doing the primary video on this one. All of a sudden I realize why they kept hitting the camera.

Andrew Taylor and Pat Laughln “Big Daddy”, filmed by Tom Arkus

Greg Watts and Steve Woodward- also filmed by Cory Tepper
Local PDX videographer Cory Tepper is a madman. He did two videos at the contest. I don’t even know what to say; he never even got a chance to step over a bike on his first visit to the park, but you gots to pay the bills somehow.

Props to Ray’s for throwing a sweet contest- it really showcases the park, and the creativity of the riding and filmers. I love that one of the premier bike parks in the world has the word “MTB” in the title. Hopefully the success of the park is not an anomaly, and it can be recreated here in Portland- there are a number of private indoor skateparks, it’s time for the bike scene to pull together, instead of just talking shit about each other. What is it about bikers constantly talking shit?
